A presentation copy, warmly inscribed by Celan on the first leaf: "Für Margareta und Hugo, in alter Freundschaft und mit den herzlichsten Grüssen und Wünschen, am 24 Jänner 1960, Paul." The recipients were the Romanian-born French artist/writer Margareta Dorian and her husband Hugo Taussig. Books inscribed by Celan are not common and this one, in one of his more important collections. evinces a close literary friendship.
