An interesting association copy of this book about Blixen/Dinesen by her longtime secretary. Laid into this copy is typed letter signed by Svendsen to Louise Crane, friend to writers and artists and daughter of Josephine Boardman Crane, whose Fifth Avenue apartment was a gathering place for many prominent figures in the arts. Svendsen recalls her visit to the Crane home while accompanying Isak Dinesen during her one trip to the U.S. and draws her attention to passages in the book referring to that experience.
