Inscribed by Moore on the front flyleaf: "Collected but not corrected, signed for Chester Page, who will please correct it. Marianne Moore, August 25, 1959." Published in an edition of 3500 copies -- another 1500 were printed to be used for the U.S. issue -- the book contained many errors that were corrected for a subsequent issue with the insertion of an errata slip.
