Goldmith's satirical letters ran in Newbery's Public Ledger, purporting to be dispatches home from an invented visitor. This copy with "Printed for the Author" on the title page, along with the following points of issue: misnumbered p. iv in Vol. 1, catchword on p. 11 in Vol. 2 with a letter out of line. A lovely set in a fine binding by Riviere.
