Long, content rich letters in a small, condensed hand, discussing plants, readings, colleagues, etc. Friedrich Köornicke (1828-1908) was a leading botanist who made substantial contributions, particularly in his studies of grains. At the time of this correspondence with fellow botanist Garcke (1819-1904), he was installed as garden conservator at St. Petersburg. Excellent, substantial letters fromearly in his career.
