Presentation copy, nicely inscribed by Castro on the title page to fellow poet Quincy Troupe. A lifelong resident of St. Louis, and eventually the city's poet laureate, Castro enjoyed a long relationship with Troupe, who grew up in East St. Louis. Castro founded the journal River Styx, under which auspices he and Troupe collaborated frequently.
