Songmakers had its roots in the informal musical gatherings in Griffith Park in the 1940s. The Almanac was conceived as a west coast cousin of Pete Seeger's People's Songs and has proved far more durable, surviving to this day as "The Bard Chord." This issue includes, songs, articles, notes and comments on local events and members, etc. Tucked into a list of activities is notice of a traditional banjo less, professional level, taught by Taj Mahal.
