With a "Compliments Of" publisher's presentation card laid in, along with the editor's inscribed business card and a handwritten letter from Truitt to writer and translator William Weaver. This was the second volume of the sculptor's journals to be published, the first being Daybook two years earlier. An important minimalist sculptor, known for her colorful, hand-painted geometric structures, Anne Truitt also developed a reputation as a writer with her journals. Parts of this one were written in Italy where she stayed with Weaver at his Monte San Sevino residence in Arezzo.
