Full page letter to a client written in black ink in Weston's large, bold, script with a wide-nib pen. Weston refers to a print Mrs. Holcombe had purchased ("The print you selected - and which I will mail today - is one of my favorites. Thanks for the order") provides pricing for a portrait sitting apparently for the recipient's father, and also announces his plan to leave for New Mexico next Friday. The trip to New Mexico proved pivotal in his career and the wide desert landscape and light became important part of his photographic vocabulary for the rest of his life. A handsome and evocative letter.
