Designed and conceived by Armitage, this was one of several collections on which he collaborated with Corle. For this symposium, they assembled essays about Stravinsky from contributors including Erik Satie, Eugene Goossens, Jean Cocteau, Aaron Copland, Robert Craft, Osbert Sitwell, and others. The artists whose work illustrates the book include Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Marc Chagall, Antonio Frasconi and Edward Weston. Armitage's lively designs mark this and his other books with a distinctive mid-century appeal.
