New York: American Library Service, 1923. First illustrated edition. Large 8vo, frontispiece, 61pp; gray boards with printed label on front. Discreet bookplate on front pastedown; slight bump to top edge; fine in a moderately edgeworn dust jacket. Item #205672
This edition of De Casseres's first book, originally published in 1915, omits one poem from the first edition ("Love the Destroyer"). Smith's fantastical illustrations comprise a full-page image facing the poem "The Dead Who Live," protected by a printed leaf of spider-web tissue, the dust jacket, and a smaller version of the jacket artwork on the title label affixed to the front board. The frontispiece is a tipped-in gravure of a portrait of De Casseres by Marius de Zayas, originally published in "Camera Work"
