Rock-Flower

New York: Boni and Liveright, (1923). First edition. 8vo, 118pp; blue cloth stamped in gilt. Covers a bit bubbled and shelf-rubbed; front endpaper excised, still very good in the original delicate silkscreened dust jacket, worn at edges and hinges. Item #205667

Inscribed by the poet in 1959 to a close friend, and with a touching typed letter signed by Foster (using her given name "Julie") laid in along with an original typescript of her poem "Boris Pasternack." Frontispiece portrait by John Butler Yeats. A multitalented woman, Jeanne Robert Foster was at times something of a muse to both Ezra Pound and Aleister Crowley. She co-edited the Transatlantic Review and was instrumental in the development and disposition of the great collections of literary lawyer John Quinn.
