New York: Horace Liveright, (1931). First edition. 8vo, 395pp; beige cloth stamped in gilt and burgundy. Fine in a moderately worn dust jacket with a vertical tear to the spine. Item #205649
A sort of autobiography combining self-analysis, verse, and confession. The author, a popular writer of science fiction, among other things, was a pre-German propagandist during the First World War and a supporter of Hitler up to the Second. He was imprisoned as an enemy agent until 1947. The handsome dust jacket design is by Hans Flato.
