This play enjoyed a three-month run on Broadway at the Biltmore Theatre in 1930. Mayer gained his broadest reputation in Hollywood, where he was prolific screenwriter, collaborating most notably with Ernst Lubitsch on "To Be or Not To Be" and "A Royal Scandal". This copy has been inscribed and signed by Mayer on the first blank leaf, dated June 16, 1929.
