Victor Meyer (1848-1897) an important German chemist, known especially for his work on vapor densities, writes home as a student. A former owner's note quotes a letter from Meyer's son-in-law, in sending the letter as a gift, that there are not many such handwritten letters by Meyer, who ordinarily wrote stenogrpahically.
