The exiled South African poet was a key figure in the early years of the Black Arts movement, before returning to Africa in 1975. He would remain out of his home country until 1990, as apartheid was nearing its end. Kgositsile was named poet laureate of South Africa in 2006. This book includes an introduction by Chinua Achebe.
