Ownership signatures and small leather bookplates (with resultant offsetting) in each volume; spines rubbed and crackling; one label from Vol. 3 has fallen off; hinges tender; upper portion of spine of Vol. 1 pulling loose, but still attached. Corrected and expanded from its first publication in 1797. The frontispiece portrait was engraved by Caroline Watson after the artist's own self portrait.
